At the Boys Coaches Invitational today in Boston, Alex Sullivan broke his own school record in the 1000m, running 2:36.00.  Sullivan was joined by Ian Lutz and Sam Shanky in the 2 mile in qualifying for next week's Elite Meet.

The Northampton Girls won the Pioneer Division for the second consecutive year with wins over Agawam, Chicopee and Chicopee Comp.  Mia Toffoli became the first Blue Devil to set a school record this season, winning the 1000m in 3:07.02.  Toffoli broke the record of 3:09.12 set by Natalia Paine '10 in 2009.  The boys squad finished the regular season with three wins over Agawam, Chicopee and Chicopee Comp.

Saturday, the girls attended the MSTCA Coaches Girls Invitational at the Reggie Lewis Center.  The 4x400 team of Adrienne Pascucci, Toffoli, Emma Larson, and Phoebe Hopkins placed 2nd in 4:06.70.  All three relays qualified for the Elite Meet next week and Toffoli qualified in the 600m.  The boys will be competing on Sunday in the MSTCA Coaches Boys Invitational.

At the PVIAC 4x800 Relay Meet, the Northampton Boys relay of Sam Coates-Finke, Ian Lutz, Sam Shanky and Alex Sullivan broke the school record and PVIAC Pioneer Division Record, winning the meet in 8:27.3.  The girls took first and second in the meet.  The team of Vivi Ford, Adrienne Pascucci, Emma Jenkins-Sullivan and Mia Toffoli ran 10:10.6 to win with the 5th fastest time in school history.  In second was Haley Milsark, Charlotte Lellman, Joni Sullivan and Emma Larson in 10:19.8, the 8th-best time ever.  Complete team and overall results are below.

On the heels of the most successful seasons in Northampton cross country history, the Blue Devils were recognized by The Republican as 14 members were named to the All-Scholastic teams for the fall.

For the boys, Sam Coates-Finke, Charlie Hale, Harrison Hunter, Ian Lutz, Sam Shanky and Alex Sullivan were named to the First Team and Alex Cahillane was named to the Second Team.  Hunter was also named to The Republican's All-Academic Team.

The girls also placed six athletes on the First Team as Ruth Howe, Emma Larson, Haley Milsark, Mia Toffoli, Emma West and Eliana Zimmerman earned the honor.  Joni Sullivan was named to the Second Team.

The Northampton girls moved to 6-0 with wins over Amherst (70-25) and Holyoke (75-20) Friday night while the boys fell to 4-2 after defeating Amherst (66-210 but dropping a tough meet to Holyoke (46-49).  The girls 4x400 team of Adrienne Pascucci, Emma Larson, Mia Toffoli and Phoebe Hopkins set the Pioneer Division record running 4:10.65.  The girls had 11 Western Mass qualifying marks and 6 state qualifying marks.  The boys posted 12 Western Mass marks and 8 state marks on Friday.

Saturday, the team competed in the MIAA Division 3 State Relays in Boston.  The girls 4x200 and 4x800 posted their best times of the season in the meet and the distance medley relay placed 8th.  The girls 3xShot Put finished 10th, less than 2 feet out of 6th behind Western Mass qualifying throws by Mary Greco and Alexa Pascucci.  The boys 3xShot Put placed 14th.  Complete relays results are available here.
