Tonight will be the PVIAC's first Coaches vs. Cancer fundraising event for the American Cancer Society.  As a league we have already raised over $4000 on t-shirt sales alone!  Be sure to get your pledges before the meet.  Coach Kraft will email out how many seasons bests and Western Mass qualifiers we had over the weekend so you can collect your pledge money.  All pledges must be turned in to Coach Kraft no later than Thursday.  The Coaches vs. Cancer logo that will be on everyone's t-shirts designed by Junior Joni Sullivan.

Facing some impressive competition from across the East Coast, the Northampton indoor track and field teams competed in the Dartmouth Relays Friday and Saturday.  The Blue Devils posted five additions to the All-Time Top-10 Lists (see below) and six MIAA Division 3 qualifying performances.  On Friday night, Mariel Lutz shattered the Freshman Mile Record as she qualified for the state meet running 5:37.13.  Andrew Sadowski posted a huge personal best in the shot put, throwing 41'11.75" to qualify for the state meet and post the seventh-farthest throw in school history.

Saturday saw Mia Toffoli place the highest of any of the Blue Devils as she finished 6th in the 600m.  Also in the 600m, Alex Dibrindisi ran the fifth-fastest time in school history to qualify for the state meet.  Sophie Sharp became only the ninth girl in school history to break eight seconds in the 55m.  For the boys, Avi Sheldon was the only athlete to get on the top-ten as he ran a personal-best in the 600m.  Alex Sullivan was the top finisher on the boys side (8th place) in the 1000m, running 4.5 laps with only one shoe.
