Even though we are just getting to the championship part of the cross country schedule, indoor track and field season is right around the corner!  The preseason meeting will be held on Monday, November 8 at 2:15 PM in the high school cafeteria.  All athletes interested in participating on this year's team should attend this meeting.

In addition, athletic forms and fees must be turned in to Mr. Miller before any athlete is allowed to practice.  All forms are available here:  http://hamphigh.org/athletics/page/athletic-forms

Don't panic that the deadline for the forms is today - but please get them in as soon as possible (preferably by November 10) to ensure you are cleared to practice.

The Boys and Girls Cross Country squads finished off the regular season today with wins over Ludlow and South Hadley.  Both teams completed undefeated regular seasons with 10-0 records for the first time in school history.  In addition, both squads were crowned Valley North champions.  Ian Lutz (on his 18th birthday) paced the way for the guys while Eliana Zimmerman was the top finisher for the girls.  The girls pack was a season-best 43 seconds from 1-7.  The next meet for both teams is the PVIAC Championships held November 6 at Stanley Park in Westfield.  Details will follow.

On a great fall day in Thetford, VT, the boys and girls cross country teams competed in the Woods Trail Run.  The heavy rain from the end of last week led to some muddy spots on the trails and a couple of puddles, but otherwise conditions were excellent.  The boys finished 2nd in the meet with Harrison Hunter leading the way in 15th place.  The girls were 12th, and the first team from Massachusetts, with Emma West crossing the line first for the Blue Devils in 45th place.  Complete results are below as well as Ken Wanar's pictures.
