The Blue Devil indoor track and field teams made their first visits to the Reggie Lewis Center today for the Boston Holiday Challenge.  Despite the layoff over the break, the boys and girls performed quite well, bringing back 5 medals and 8 additions to the all-time top-10 list.  Alex Sullivan led the way for the boys, placing 3rd and breaking his own school record in the 1000.  The 4x200m relay team of Casey Keedy, Galit Sarvet, Catherine Lamond and Emily Hannigan-Page placed 4th for the girls with the sixth-best time in school history. Also earning medals for the girls was Mia Toffoli in the 600 (5th place, 2nd all-time) and Charlotte Lellman in the two mile (6th place). Harrison Hunter also placed 6th in the two mile.  The All-time top-10 list additions are below as well as complete Northampton results.

The Boston Holiday Challenge has been postponed to Tuesday, December 28 due to the snowstorm.  The meet will now begin with field events at 1:45 and running events at 2:30.  All athletes that were entered need to contact Coach Kraft to let him know if they can attend as well as if we still have enough drivers for the meet.

The first Blue-Gold Alumni Meet was a great success today.  25 Northampton Cross Country and Track and Field Alums returned to compete and many more were in attendance.  The Alumni won the boys meet with 54.5 points behind strong performances in the shot put, long jump and 55m dash.  The Gold Team was second with 33.5 points and the Blue team scored 19 points.

The girls meet came down to the final event, the Sprint Medley Relay as the Blue Team won with 48 points topping the Gold Team with 44 points while the Alumni scored 19 points.  

This was a great event that we hope to make a December tradition for the program!  Complete results and the picture of the shot putters are below.

The girls and boys indoor track and field teams moved to 3-0 on the season with wins over Westfield and West Side Friday evening at Smith College.  The girls won 83-12 over Westfield and 89-6 over West Side.  the boys defeated Westfield 56-39 and West Side 61-34.  18 girls qualified for Western Mass and nine boys also qualified.  For the state meet, nine girls and five boys achieved qualifying marks.  Updates to the all-time top 10 lists and team results are below.  Complete meet results are available here.

As we did in the outdoor season last year, the team is selling shirts as a fundraiser this indoor season.  The shirts are long sleeve and gray and are only $12!  The order form is below and the logo in the corner of the order form will be on the shirts.  All orders and money are due to Coach Kraft by December 22.

The boys and girls indoor track and field teams got off to quick starts Friday night as both squads defeated Minnechaug.  The girls won 71-24 while the boys were 74-20 winners.  13 girls and 10 boys qualified for the Western Mass Meet.  In addition, the following athletes are now on the all-time top 10 lists:

The banquet will be held on Monday, December 20 at 6 PM in the high school cafeteria.  The cost will be $12 for adults, $6 for students and athletes on the team are free.  Please email Coach Kraft so we can know how many are attending from your family by Wednesday, December 15.  Also, we will need some help with setup beginning around 5.  Anyone that can come, please email Coach Kraft.
 
 
The Indoor Track and Field Parents-Coaches Meeting will be held Wednesday night, December 8, at 6:15 PM in the high school cafeteria.  We ask that at least one parent from each athlete attend.
