Moving outside due to the construction at Smith College, the Northampton track and field program had its Second Annual Blue-Gold-Alumni Meet today.  It was great to see everyone who came back!  The Alumni Boys won the meet with 47 points.  The Gold Team was second with 29 points thanks to winning both the Sprint Medley Relay and the Throwers SMR as the Blue Team finished with 28 points.  The girls meet came down to the relays also as winning the Throwers SMR clinched the meet for the Gold Team with 40 points.  The Blue Team scored 38 points while the Alumni Team scored 15 points.  Complete meet results are below.  Thanks again for all who came to the meet!

It is time for our Second Annual Northampton Blue-Gold Alumni Meet! All Northampton cross country and track and field alumni are invited to return to indoor track and field practice for our annual intersquad meet before December break. Smith is resurfacing its track so we will have the meet at the high school track. The meet will happen as long as the weather is good.

The first Blue-Gold Alumni Meet was a great success today.  25 Northampton Cross Country and Track and Field Alums returned to compete and many more were in attendance.  The Alumni won the boys meet with 54.5 points behind strong performances in the shot put, long jump and 55m dash.  The Gold Team was second with 33.5 points and the Blue team scored 19 points.

The girls meet came down to the final event, the Sprint Medley Relay as the Blue Team won with 48 points topping the Gold Team with 44 points while the Alumni scored 19 points.  

This was a great event that we hope to make a December tradition for the program!  Complete results and the picture of the shot putters are below.

Northampton alums returned to action last weekend for their college squads.  Tyler Keith '09 was Gettysburg's third finisher, placing 13th overall in the Lebanon Valley College Cross Country Invitational.  Tyler helped the Bullets finish second as a team in the meet as he covered the 8k course in 27:33.96.

Justin Gero '09 ran a nearly 30 second personal best over the 8k distance, running 32:04.6 for Bard, finishing as their fourth man.  Bard finished fourth as a team in the Purchase College Cross Country Invitational.

At the Wesleyan University Alumni/ae Cross Country Race, Hannah Zimmerman '09 placed 9th overall and was the 7th finisher for Wesleyan as she ran the 3460m course in 14:41.
 
 
Throughout the year, I will post updates of how our alumni that are competing in cross country and track and field in college are doing.  Last weekend was the first weekend of competitions for most colleges.

Tyler Keith '09 helped Gettysburg defeat Franklin & Marshall in the Little Three Meet in Pennsylvania.  Tyler was Gettysburg's second man, covering the 5k course in 16:36.

Justin Gero '09 was the fifth finisher for Bard at the Vassar College Invitational.  Justin's time of 24:20 on the 6k course helped Bard to an 8th place finish.
