Tonight will be the PVIAC's first Coaches vs. Cancer fundraising event for the American Cancer Society.  As a league we have already raised over $4000 on t-shirt sales alone!  Be sure to get your pledges before the meet.  Coach Kraft will email out how many seasons bests and Western Mass qualifiers we had over the weekend so you can collect your pledge money.  All pledges must be turned in to Coach Kraft no later than Thursday.  The Coaches vs. Cancer logo that will be on everyone's t-shirts designed by Junior Joni Sullivan.

It is time for our Second Annual Northampton Blue-Gold Alumni Meet! All Northampton cross country and track and field alumni are invited to return to indoor track and field practice for our annual intersquad meet before December break. Smith is resurfacing its track so we will have the meet at the high school track. The meet will happen as long as the weather is good.

The Northampton Indoor Track and Field season continues this Saturday at the All-State Meet.  The Blue Devils had eight individual qualifiers and two relays advance to the meet after the Division 3 Championship.  Complete performance lists are available for the boys and the girls.  Saturday's meet begins at 11 AM for the field events and 11:30 AM for the running events.

The Boston Holiday Challenge has been postponed to Tuesday, December 28 due to the snowstorm.  The meet will now begin with field events at 1:45 and running events at 2:30.  All athletes that were entered need to contact Coach Kraft to let him know if they can attend as well as if we still have enough drivers for the meet.

The PVIAC Cross Country Championships will be held on Saturday at Stanley Park in Westfield.  The bus for the athletes leaves from the stadium parking lot at 10:15 AM.  The order of the races is:

1:00 JV Girls
2:00 JV Boys
3:00 Varsity Girls
3:40 Varsity Boys

The bus is only going one way so we will need parents to help drive athletes back to Northampton.

Shifting gears, the tentative indoor track and field schedule is now posted on the Schedule page.  Remember, the preseason meeting will be held on Monday, November 8 at 2:15 PM in the high school cafeteria.

This Saturday the cross country teams are going to Thetford, Vermont for the Woods Trail Run.  Because of the distance, we will be taking a school bus to the meet.  With the number of athletes on the team this year, and the size of the bus, only those athletes competing will be attending the meet.  The bus leaves from the stadium parking lot at 7:30 AM.  It is very important that we are able to leave Northampton at 7:30 in order to give those athletes running in the first meet the proper amount of time to walk the course and warmup.
