Coach Kraft sent an important email on the upcoming week to the team this afternoon.  Please read the entire email as there is a lot of very important information in it.  If you did not receive it, please email Coach Kraft.

On the heels of the most successful seasons in Northampton cross country history, the Blue Devils were recognized by The Republican as 14 members were named to the All-Scholastic teams for the fall.

For the boys, Sam Coates-Finke, Charlie Hale, Harrison Hunter, Ian Lutz, Sam Shanky and Alex Sullivan were named to the First Team and Alex Cahillane was named to the Second Team.  Hunter was also named to The Republican's All-Academic Team.

The girls also placed six athletes on the First Team as Ruth Howe, Emma Larson, Haley Milsark, Mia Toffoli, Emma West and Eliana Zimmerman earned the honor.  Joni Sullivan was named to the Second Team.

Cross country season is now underway with the largest team in school history!  We had a great MTT for the upperclassmen in Vermont and yesterday was the first day with the entire squad.

Wednesday at 7 PM will be the Parents-Coaches meeting at the high school.  We ask that at least one parent of each athlete attend. [UPDATE:  We will be in the auditorium at the high school for the meeting.]

The practice schedule for the rest of the week is as follows:
Tuesday 5-7 PM - meet at flag pole
Wednesday 4-6 PM - meet at athletic fields
Thursday 5-7 PM - meet at athletic fields
Friday 5-7 PM - meet at athletic fields

In addition, the updated schedule for the season is now posted on the Schedule page.

It is very important that all athletes get their paperwork in to Mr. Miller immediately.  The deadline was July 23, but if you don't have your forms in yet, it is not too late.  However, in order to make sure you are cleared for the first day of practice you paperwork should be in this week.  If you still need the forms they are available here:  NHS Athletic Forms

In addition, the current eligibility list is available on the Hamp High Athletics Web Page.  Any forms that are incomplete are available in the office at the high school.

I have received a number of requests for the MTT forms so I figured it would be easiest to post them here.  Remember, all upperclassmen are allowed to go but must turn in their forms no later than August 17 to me. The check for $75 is made out to Coach Clayton.

The lifting and conditioning clinic will be held this week.  All Northampton High School athletes must attend a clinic before being allowed to use the weight room this year (per Mr. Miller).  The boys will go on Monday, July 19 from 6-7:30 PM and the girls are Thursday, July 22 from 6-7:30 PM.  If you cannot attend one of these sessions, we will have more times scheduled in August.

On another note, congratulations to the winners of the Mass Dash, the Dirty Dozen.  The team featured Coach Ross Krause and his wife Ashley as well as current Northampton athletes Sam "Moose" Coates-Finke, Harrison Hunter, and Alex Sullivan.  Great job everyone!

This blog will be used for team updates and important information and team news throughout the year.  We will also use this page to post Season Results and give highlights from each meet throughout the season.
