Brent Graham broke the school record in the javelin against Minnechaug on Monday.
The Northampton Girls Track and Field team moved to 7-0 on the season with a 91-54 win over Minnechaug.  The boys fell to 2-3 after Minnechaug defeated the Blue Devils 79-66. The highlight of the afternoon was Senior Brent Graham setting a new boys javelin school record after throwing 155'0".

Adrienne Pascucci won three events for the girls and Leah Tompkins captured two.  Sam Coates-Finke was the only multiple event winner for the Blue Devils on the boys side.

The Northampton Boys started the season on Thursday with a 114-21 home victory over East Longmeadow.  Nate Ogulewicz set a senior record in the javelin throwing 149'11" and he also won the discus.  Ives Fisher was also a double-winner in the shot put and the 400m hurdles.  The other winner of two events was Marcus Neverson in the pole vault and the 200m.  The Blue Devils return to action with a busy week next week with meets at home against Amherst on Monday and at Longmeadow on Thursday.  Complete Northampton results, top-10 additions and Rick George's meet videos are linked below.

The Northampton Cross Country team concluded its season at the MIAA All-State Meet in Boston's Franklin Park Saturday.  Alex Sullivan was the top Northampton finisher, placing 21st in 16:31.  Sam Coates-Finke was the next Blue Devil to cross the line running 16:47 to finish 39th.  Close behind as part of a large pack, Charlie Hale ran 17:18 to place 97th.  For the girls, Eliana Zimmerman finished in 115th place, running 21:14.  Complete boys results are available here and girls results here.  Northampton results are linked below as is Rick and Will George's race video and Bob Gardner's pictures.

At the Western Mass Championships on Saturday, Sam Coates-Finke, Charlie Hale, Alex Sullivan and Eliana Zimmerman qualified for the All-State Meet to be held next weekend in Boston's Franklin Park.  The boys placed 4th in the team competition and the girls finished 5th.  Coates-Finke was the top Northampton finisher, placing second in 17:14.43.  His time is the second-best ever by a Blue Devil on the Northfield Mountain course.  Zimmerman placed 8th in the girls race in 21:20.37.  Her time is the seventh-fastest ever by a Northampton girl.

On a fast course at Holyoke Community College the Northampton boys placed 3rd while the girls were 4th at the PVIAC Championships.  The JV boys came in 2nd and the JV girls placed 3rd.  Sam Coates-Finke was the top finisher, placing 4th in a time of 15:44.71.  Eliana Zimmerman placed 6th in 19:06.88.  Both Coates-Finke and Zimmerman ran the fastest 5km times ever in Northampton cross country history.  Below are pictures from Bob Gardner and Ken Wanar, Rick George's video and Northampton results.

The Northampton boys and girls cross country teams closed out the regular season with a loss to Amherst on Tuesday.  Sam Coates-Finke and Eliana Zimmerman were the top finishers for the Blue Devils.  Northampton results, pictures and the race video are below.  The Blue Devils return to action on Saturday, November 5 at the PVIAC Championships at Stanley Park in Westfield.

In the last home meet of the season, Northampton's cross country teams posted wins over East Longmeadow and Monson.  Eliana Zimmerman won the girls race by nearly a minute with the third-fastest time in school history and the junior class record of 20:15.  Mariel Lutz posted the third-best freshman time and Becca Coates-Finke ran the ninth-fastest senior time.  For the boys, Sam Coates-Finke edged fellow senior Alex Sullivan for the win as both are now tied for the fourth-fastest senior time in school history at 16:42.  The freshmen boys also did well as Ben Hill set the class record in 18:07 and Aidan Gilson is now the third-fastest freshman in 18:15.  Course records are updated on the Records page of the website.  Results, pictures, and the race video are linked below.

The boys and girls cross country teams defeated Holyoke Catholic and Mohawk on the rainy 2.72 mile course at the Whiting Reservoir on Tuesday.  The girls won a close 26-30 decision against Holyoke Catholic thanks to a 2-3-4 finish by Eliana Zimmerman, Mariel Lutz and Mia Toffoli.  Zimmerman's time of 17:55 makes her the 47th fastest performer ever on the course and is the fastest time by a Blue Devil.  The boys cruised to victory over both teams with Sam Shanky and Alex Sullivan taking the top two spots.  Complete Northampton results and

The Northampton Boys swept Longmeadow and Southwick on Tuesday while the Girls defeated Southwick but lost a hard fought race to Longmeadow.  Alex Sullivan and Sam Coates-Finke took the top two spots in the boys race.  Eliana Zimmerman finished second in the girls race.  Northampton results, video and pictures are below.

Saturday at Hampshire College the Northampton Cross Country team competed in the Amherst Invitational.  The varsity boys placed 9th and the varsity girls were 18th.  Individually, Sam Coates-Finke finished 14th in the varsity race as the top Blue Devil finisher.  In the freshmen race, Mariel Lutz placed 4th and Ben Hill came in 7th.  Northampton results are below.  Complete results are available here
